A Cambodian minister said on Monday that Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the leader of the military council, had agreed to meet with members of the National League for Democracy (NLD) during future visits by Asean special envoys.
He made the remarks during a video conference between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on January 26, according to Prime Minister Kao Kim Hourn. But at what level of the NLD? Senior General Min Aung Hlaing did not say which member. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
“The goal of ASEAN is to meet with all stakeholders. But not all at once. It is possible after folding. It’s best to have Aung San Suu Kyi with us.”

“The goal of ASEAN is to meet with all stakeholders,” he said. But not all at once. It is possible after folding. It’s best to have Aung San Suu Kyi with us, ”he said, but said he was unlikely to see Suu Kyi on the Asean Special Envoy’s first visit.
Nay Phone Latt, a spokesman for the National League for Democracy (NLD) in exile, said any meeting with the ASEAN special envoy should be with the party’s agreement.
