There are intense battles between the Burmese army and the Rakhine Army AA, but both side used the Rohingya villages and shelling Rohingya villages in Buthidaung township, where hundreds of Rohingya have fled their homes to escape the war and need urgent aid, reported locals from the village.
Starting from the afternoon of September 25th, the battle started with mutual firing between the Burmese army in the village of Jai Ning Pya and the Rakhine Army AA which was deployed in the village of Guta Pyin. Around five hundred local Rohingya from these 2 villages have fled to Po Khok Choi and Pyin La villages to escape the war, locals resident said.
The Rakhine Army AA, which entered the Guta Pyin village, dug trenches after entering the Rohingya village. The village was fortified like a fortress, including the planting of landmines at the entrances to the villages and at key points, the villagers told.
In addition, the Myanmar Army in the surrounding area is continuously shelling heavy artillery into the Rohingya villages where the Rakhine Army AA has entered and taking position, and the Rakhine Army AA side is also firing back and forth between the Myanmar Army and the police outposts from within the Rohingya villages.
Today, on September 25, the group battle between the Myanmar Army and the Rakhine Army AA in Buthidaung Township, Guta Pyin Village, was different from previous battles in the Rakhine State, and it was focused on the residential villages, with heavy artillery shelling, intrusions into the village, and captures, digging trenches in residential areas.
According to the information obtained from today’s battle closely, there are mines and actions aimed at directly affecting civilians during the war. Today’s battle is centered on Rohingya villages. These actions are intended to make the civilian Rohingyas to leave their villages to surrounding area as refugees fleeing the war. If the fighting continues at high speed in the same way, most of the Rohingya villagers in Buthidaung Township have the potential to avoid war. People who had the opportunity, saying they are worried about the situation that will arise again as 2017 military operation clean on Rohingya community and there are many questions about the attack on Rohingya villages, said a watchdog from Buthidaung Township.

In the situation where the Rohingyas are fleeing the war due to the fighting, there is no situation for the Rohingyas to flee the war to the city where they can easily get support like other Rakhine residents, and to open war evacuation camps in public areas.
As a result, the Rohingyas who have sought refuge in the surrounding villages are in need of emergency assistance and may face a food shortage soon, according to a Rohingya villager who provides assistance to refugees fleeing the war.
