Humanitarian aid organizations have urged the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) that there is a need to establish an organization that will deal with refugee issues.
The Rohingya refugee problem in Myanmar has not yet ended, and the refugee problem in ASEAN has not yet been resolved.
The problem of refugees in ASEAN is not only the Rohingya, but now Myanmar citizens are no longer safe, after Myanmar’s military has seized power and neighboring countries have blocked their borders. The Indonesian representative of the ASEAN Intergovernmental Cooperation Commission on Human Rights said.
As there is no refugee organization in ASEAN yet, the ASEAN Disaster Mitigation Organization – AHA Center is working on it. AHA can only provide humanitarian assistance to refugees.
If there is an organization that can mainly implement refugee issues in the ten member countries of ASEAN, they will be able to connect with UNHCR and help them.
