Preparing to start the process of repatriating the Rohingyas from refugee camp in Bangladesh

The military council officials are preparing to start the process of re-accepting Rohingya refugees who have gone to Bangladesh for refuge due to the genocide by the Burmese army, a person close to the Maungdaw district general office confirmed as the reception centers are undergoing repairs.

It is expected that 150 to 300 people will be accepted per day in accepting the Rohingya refugees who have arrived in Bangladesh. Repatriated Rohingyas will stay temporary camps such as Taungpyo Letwea , Ngakhuya, Kyeinchaung and Hla Poe Kaung. After living in temporary camps for a while, Rohingya will resettle to Pantaw Pyin, Hla Poe Kaung, Thea Chaung (Hla Poe Kaung), Kyauk Hlay Kar,Tetkay Pyin, Dar Gyi Zar, Sa Bai Kone, Doe Tan, Bat Kar Gone Na, Kyein Chaung(South),Kyauk Pyin Seik (East), Kyauk Pyin Seik (West), Kyauk Pyin Seik (South), Pwint Hpyu Chaung, Saungpinnya, Kyun Pauk Pyu Su, Myo Mi Chaung and Tea Chaung Maw La Bi, but it is still not confirmed.

Bangladesh’s foreign minister had been meetings with officials from US, Japan,China and ASEAN countries for Myanmar’s acceptance of displaced Rohingya refugees since last month. Last July 24, the Bangladesh foreign minister met with the Chinese ambassador and discussed the issue of returning the Rohingyas as soon as possible.

Similarly, in the middle of last month, the Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh and the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar under the Military Council discussed the issue of repatriation of refugees.

Last June 19, hundreds of thousands of Rohingya refugees from the refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar district, Bangladesh gathered and expressed their desire to return to their homeland, Myanmar.
