31 Rohingya were arrested at Pathein Shwesaungyan beach

31 Rohingya people were arrested along with five boatmen on the morning of September 18, near the shore of Nwe Nyo Chaung Village, Shwesaungyan town,Pathein Township, Irrawaddy Division, according to local residents.

Five male boat crew members, 19 Rohingya men and 12 women, including a child under the age of 18, were arrested by the Military Council, said a resident, who did not want to be named for security reasons.

The resident also said they were sent to Pathein Prison in the morning of September 19.

He added that due to the ongoing fighting between Rakhine Army AA and Military Council in Maungdaw area of ​​Rakhine state, the Rohingyas are living in that area and may be they left for Irrawaddy region.

On the morning of September 4 this year, 28 Rohingya were arrested in Leppantan town in the western part of Baguio Division, according to residents of Leppantan.

On July 23 this year, 22 Rohingya men and 24 women were arrested by the Navy of the Military Council near Shwesaungyan Beach in Irrawaddy Division.

On September 7th and 9th, Bo Kalay Township Court sentenced them two years in prison under Section 6 (3) of the Registration of Residents Act of the Union of Myanmar on September 7 and 9, 1949.
